Maya Uterine and Abdominal Massage is an ancient treatment that has been practiced for centuries in Latin America by traditional healers and midwives.  It is a gentle, external self-care massage technique used to gently guide the uterus and supporting organs into optimal placement in the pelvis, supporting reproductive health, digestive health, general well-being,  and the body’s innate capacity to heal.  In this Self-Care Workshop you will learn the basic anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system and how the vital flow of blood, lymph and chi can be compromised by a displaced or prolapsed uterus.  This class is very comprehensive and we will cover causes, symptoms and contraindications as well as the simple daily self-care technique.  We will also include an introduction to herbal therapies and other important traditional healing techniques.

This 3 day class prepares the student to perform The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy on him/herself only.  Additionally, this class is a prerequisite to enrollment in the Professional Training for licensed healthcare practitioners.
